What are the available options for participating in squash?
There are many ways to participate in squash. There is no one pathway that is best or preferred, so players should choose whichever works best for their individual situation. Also, it is worth noting that many players choose to participate in many of these different pathways simultaneously.
This is not an exhaustive list, but provides some insight into the available options for participating in squash.
Club Squash:
Narrowing down a club to play at is the first step in finding out more options to participate. Each club has specific programing that is based on the needs of their membership. These internal programs can include but are not limited to:
- Lessons
- Clinics
- Match Play
- Box Leagues
- Round Robins
- Ladder Play
- Club Championships
- Boot Camps
- Fitness for Squash
District/Regional Squash:
Players can also participate in their regional programs such as Leagues and Regional Championships. This is another option that many pursue after being involved in their club's programming for awhile. Club programs often provide opportunities to compete with your club team at the district or regional level.
National Tournaments:
Nationally, players can participate in accredited tournaments that are available on the US Squash tournaments schedule. These events are divided by Adult, Junior, Doubles, Professional, Championships. Players can focus on age or ability when choosing events to play in.
