How can I determine what my final seeding group is at a tournament?
Seeding points are determined based on the rankings calculation from the Wednesday 1.5 weeks prior to the start of a tournament. Based on their seeding points, players are then ordered and separated into “seeding groups.” Players are then randomized within their seeding groups and placed on the draw accordingly.
Randomized seeding groups are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17-20, 21-24, 25-28, and 29-32.
The top four seeded players are placed into the draw in the standard positions for each seed. Then, the 5-8 seeds are randomized and placed in the four positions for the 5-8 players (for example, the No. 7 seeded player could end up in any of the No. 5-8 positions). The same process is then replicated for each other seeding group.
