What should I do if a player doesn't show up for their refereeing duty?
In all US Squash accredited junior play, players are responsible for refereeing their peers. Winners and losers are responsible for officiating after their match–the winner acts as referee and the loser as marker–unless released by the Tournament Director.
If a junior player neglects his or her refereeing duties during an event, the tournament director should try to find the missing player by quickly looking around the facility and/or calling the player if a contact number is easily available. If the tournament director is unable to reach the player, or if you do and the player still does not show up at the court in time to referee, you should report that player to tournaments@ussquash.com.
A player who does not fulfill his or her refereeing responsibilities will receive zero points for participating in the event and may also need to retake the online referee exam.
